Tests certify the accuracy of the LPR radar hydrometer

CAE philosophy has always been to do things at our best. For 40 years, quality has been our first priority and, in this regard, the tests to which our equipment is subjected are never enough. For this reason, apart from having passed the various tests internally and obtained EC and FCC certifications, the LPR Radar Hydrometer has also been subjected to further tests in order to certify its accuracy and precision as far as the measurement of liquid levels.

On Thursday, September 21st, Simone Colonnelli, Geologist and CAE Project Manager, spoke at the Esonda conference "Landslides caused by extreme natural events", at the RemTech Expo. His intervention was about "The use of the Wireless Sensor Network aiming at Emergency Management and Risk Reduction in instability scenarios: application examples, strong points and future perspectives."
A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for the landslide in Castelnuovo di Campli (TERAMO)

Last February, a landslide occurred in the Municipality of Castelnuovo di Campli, in the province of Teramo. CAE provided the Region of Abruzzo with a full-scale and modern "turnkey" monitoring and alert system that uses self-configuring wireless networks thanks to the WSN technology (Wireless Sensor Network).

After the huge landslide occurred in the Municipality of Civitacampomarano, an automatic monitoring and alert system in real time has been implemented and tested, aiming at guaranteeing public safety and managing the emergency situation of this Municipality.

The works ended with a unanimous purpose as far as sustainable development, removal of fossil fuel subsidies, use of sustainable resources, circular economy, promotion of clean technology, marine litter, environmental fiscal reform, dialogue with the most vulnerable countries and with Africa: on the contrary, no agreement was reached as far as climate.
Safety for citizens first: a new alert system for the underpass in via Contea, in Rubiera (Reggio Emilia)

The underpass in via Contea (on the Provincial Road S.P. 51), in the Municipality of Rubiera, has shown some water run-off problems during highly intense raining events; for this reason, the public authority decided to equip the above mentioned subway with a monitoring and alert system that was opportunely installed by CAE.

Bologna will host the new ECMWF Data Centre, the news made the city enthusiastic as winning a crucial football match. The selection of Bologna, house of the oldest fully operational University in Europe, became public at the beginning of March.
