Innovation: testing is underway on the local warning for very small basins, where buried rivers and streams are a danger

Many towns were built over small buried rivers. Dry for most of the year, heavy rains may fill them up again. Exceeding design flow rates, solid flood transport and difficult underground maintenance can suddenly lead to dangerous situations. Structural solutions to mitigate these risk scenarios can be time-consuming and difficult to implement. In the meantime, setting up an appropriate local warning system is to be considered.
