XGA – A NEW RELEASE TO SUIT THE USER NEEDS
December 2009
New and important functionalities have been integrated in XGA, the CAE software dedicated to the analysis and elaboration of the data historical archives, recently update to release 2.1. The update implement the requests received directly by CAE’s customers, as well as some bugs correction.
XGA 2.1 introduces new tools to organize at best the elaboration tasks, like the possibility to assign to different users different data subsets to work on. A local or remote user connected to the main database, can access with specific configurations to the system Administration for certain stations to analyze and validate the concerning data. The activity remains localized on the central database, in order to maintain data coherence to avoid duplicate information’s proliferation. This characteristic strongly influences the program usage: further than the advantages for the simple data consulting (as an example a remote user could access only to his own stations of interest without upload all the data stationing on the main database, as a result, a considerable time saving), it’s possible to commission the various stations validation to different users, distributing and speeding up the necessary procedures.
With XGA 2.1 the database can be updated automatically, without the user intervention. The manual importing procedures are still available, XGA 2.1 can be updated automatically once a day, allowing the user to manage all the stored data in the last seven days.
Finally, for the flow measurement campaign XGA users, it has been enhanced the possibility to use different formula for different intervals of the monitored section: this allows to adopt different formula for the different river bed shapes, resulting in a more efficient analysis of the irregular sections.
