The release of VIEW has just begun: VIEW is the new software designed by CAE for the representation of data’s graphics and tables acquired by the monitoring stations. VIEW, the successor of POLIFEMO, has a totally renewed GUI, a multi-language support, two new graphic’s styles for rain and wind data, a new background and non-invasive data-update and the capability to add a plug-in that can allow the user to query the sensors and to acquire new data real time.
Beyond these news, VIEW offers all the functions already present in the old POLIFEMO, like the set-up of alarms and the personalization of the graphics and the tables. The users can always monitor interesting status by isolating specific hydro-meteorological parameters and see at glance the ones that produce alarms, caused by an exceeded value or trend. Thanks to the new GUI, based on the Microsoft Ribbon Bar, the various display modes can be managed in a fast and simple way; the improved management of the windows will allow to execute an higher number of tasks with everything in control. As an instance, graphs of different hydro-meteorological parameters  can be displayed in the same windows, to outline the risks of a determined situation; as example, the rainfall-histogram can be compared with the wind-frequencies and wind-intensity graphs, in order to understand better if the joining of these two meteorological events can produce a dangerous condition.
VIEW is a versatile software, and it was designed to be compatible with most used monitoring systems; even used in a less advanced system, it will keep all its specific features.
Beside VIEW CAE introduces the new software MAPS, the evolution of the old GIANO, that’s already in the RC status.
MAPS allows to integrate the graphic and table visualization of VIEW with a new geo-coded display of the acquired data: the user can personalize in a very powerful way his query of the sequence of hydro-meteorological events.
Just like VIEW, MAPS integrates a new GUI based on the latest Microsoft applications, that make easier to analyze and manage hydro-meteorological data directly on the selected maps. The key-innovation of MAPS is the evolution of the geo-coding: MAPS is based on one of the most evolved and advanced GIS library, that can allows to manage, representing and archiving an huge amount of multidisciplinary data, referred to the geographic coordinates in a simple and clear way. The high-grade precision and the resolution of the graphic information will allow the user to analyze deeply the hydro-meteorological phenomena. The practically endless zoom levels, that use different maps for different scales, will aid the user to have every time the best view, according to the data he’s analyzing.
