The contract between the Enterprise Temporary Association which includes CAE and the Regional Environmental Prevention Agency (ARPAV) of Veneto was signed on January 30th, 2014.
It includes the integrated operating management of the automatic monitoring systems. The bidding, awarded by mean of a public tender to CAE and its partners, includes the air quality monitoring network, the water quality monitoring network, the snow and hydrologic monitoring network and the meteorological monitoring system for agriculture. The overall monitoring network of ARPAV, spread throughout the whole region, is made up of: 38 fixed stations and 19 mobile stations for air quality monitoring; 1 station for water quality station; 105 automatic stations, 23 radio repeaters, 4 main control centers and 24 secondary monitoring centers belonging to the snow and hydrologic monitoring network; 185 stations, 18 repeaters and 8 profilers to form the meteo-agricultural monitoring network.Being of utmost importance for setting appropriate regional policies and managing extreme events in real time, it is a requirement of ARPA to have constant and timely production of accurate data from all of these components of the regional network. Concentrating the responsibility over the whole system maintenance on a unique enterprise association is a key choice to obtain such wished reliability. CAE will be in charge of the snow and hydrologic monitoring network.
It will be the company responsibility to make each sensor to perform with a minimum 97% of data collection in real time, as stated in the contract.
This is made possible thanks to the robustness and reliability of the systems designed, produced and installed by CAE in the past 35 years, joint with the integrity and professional skills of the technical personnel employed into the maintenance teams.
