ROME – CAE AT "THE SECOND LANDSLIDE FORUM"

CAE will be at The Second World Landslide Forum in the period 3 - 9 October, 2011. This event, one of the most important worldwide about landslide analysis, monitoring and risk mitigation, will be held in Rome during the same period.

The Second World Landslide Forum is organized by the Global Promotion Committee of the International Program on Landslides (IPL). IPL is a thematic platform on Landslides promoting landslide research and capacity building for the benefit of society and the environment. It includes ICL, UNESCO, FAO, UNISDR, WMO, UNU, ICSU, WFEO, IUGS and many research and land management institutions.

The forum will focus on "Putting science into practice" with special attention given to actual implementation of technology and research in everyday applications and procedures. It is a very important event to be for any stakeholder, including policy and decision makers.

CAE is going to show its unique solution, integrated into its Multi-Hazard Monitoring System, for landslide monitoring in real time. It is based on a master Automatic Weather Station, placed in a safe area close to the landslide, and a Wireless Sensor Network to collect data from standard geotechnical sensors all around it.

Main advantages of CAE wireless solution are: (1) possibility to integrate it within an existing monitoring network; (2) expansibility of the total number of monitoring points; (3) openness to any standard geotechnical sensor; (4) reliability through the years and (5) availability of data through standard web services for any purpose and further elaboration.

We'll be glad to meet all of you at the exhibition area, FAO palace in Rome - Viale delle Terme di Caracalla - where we will answer all of your questions and showcase our latest projects.

February 2010
CAE starts the new year: new targets and many ideas on the horizon.

The CAE year-end Global Meeting, held in the conference hall of NH Hotels Villanova (BO) between the seniors and the rest of the company, opens the door to a 2010 full of perspectives: were presents the CDA, the managers and all the employees, to contribute to the comparison about building the future of the company, its potential and its objectives. The first positive signs of the meeting were the high attendance and the interest shown by employees for this dialogue prospect, aimed at empowering and involving every employee at every level of the CAE system of production-management.

“With this meeting - says Giorgio Bernardi, human resources manager - the company makes a necessary comparison with the staff, to communicate clearly the objectives and guidelines and to make employees more conscious of their roles; finally to start a potential development path of different departments focusing on the involvement and identification of individuals in the growth of CAE and its successes”.
” This meeting – goes on Paolo Bernardi, company president - wants to inaugurate a path destined to become consuetude over the years: to make a difference to the prospects of the company investing in a greater awareness of the employee. This is the key to complete the transition from a direct management small company to an evolved structure based on the quality and sense of belonging of its human resources”.

The speeches of the charter members have submitted to the participants the future objectives: new products were examined, new investment areas, the recent breach of CAE to the foreign market - work in progress and successes, and was presented a project that will start in 2010 for the valorization of the company’s human resources.

Giancarlo Pedrini, company vice president, illustrated - with an engaging series of anecdotes - the progress of CAE’s activity in foreign countries, the synergy that links the company evolution to the Italian Civil Protection’s and the interest that new monitoring systems and safeguards applied on national soil won at the foreign authorities: “We are exporting the CAE model outside national boundaries, taking advantage of the success and efficiency that our systems have been able to demonstrate in more than thirty years of activity. We’re nowadays planning on  Middle East, Venezuela, South America, Bolivia, Egypt and the Balkans; and we are actually involved in the realization of a large project in Vietnam. To facilitate the comparison between the company and local authorities we’ve organized representation missions, set up conferences and exhibitions and installed “demo” stations. Today, thanks to the dedication of all, our technological identity is a strong reality even abroad”.

Franco Bertolani, company administrator, reported an emphasis on the importance of the involvement of all introducing an enterprise integration project that will be launched in 2010: “In an evolved company like CAE it’s the contribution of all that permits to achieve important results of which today we are proud; that’s why one of the purposes for the new year is to start a coordination and feedback process to create the “traits d’union” that will integrate the departments into an integrated company structure, more cohesive and strong in it’s identity. The first result we want is the worker satisfaction - concludes Franco Bertolani - which will recognize his work according to objective criteria of quality and will be more motivated in his dedication and for his personal growth”.
